Who Am I?
Counseling is a beautiful process of discovery, and I enjoy the gift of being a part of the journey. My primary goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental place where you can turn your tangled thoughts and feelings into awareness and healing.
I received my B.S. from Michigan State University, and my MSW at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and spent several years working in medication-assisted addiction treatment (MAT) where I obtained my Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). Recognizing the connection between addiction and trauma led me to getting trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and building upon my trauma-informed care.
How I Help
I have had great success utilizing a strength-based approach to build upon skills you already have, and incorporating a blend of additional therapy techniques to best fit your needs. I work from the outlook that you are the expert on yourself, and I am a guide helping you get to where you want to be. I am always in pursuit of knowledge, strategies and approaches in order to stay current and informed, and deeply respect the gift of learning from clients along the way.
