Who Am I?
Choosing to “start all over” with a new therapist can be an intimidating process. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental, supportive environment to accompany you on your journey to wellness. I strive to create a healing environment with a strengths-based and empowering approach. With over 15 years of experience as a therapist, I have developed a holistic approach, taking into account your individual experiences that make you unique. We can use your strengths to walk through the most difficult challenges you face. I believe everyone can benefit from mental health therapy, and that it is a process that helps us to know ourselves better, identify specific goals while having the support to work toward them, and increase our overall well-being.
How I Help
I will use a systemic approach, taking into account the individual experiences and background that makes you unique. I utilize CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapy modalities. I also have training in mindfulness based stress reduction. I strive for clients to leave therapy with new skills, more self-knowledge and improved ability to approach life’s challenges. My background includes work with people struggling with life transitions, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I have worked with adults healing from traumatic experiences, grief and loss, as well as serious mental illness. My education includes a master of social work from University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University. I have experience in rural and urban settings, in the hospital, at community mental health and in private practice.
