Hi there, my name is Corey and I’m so glad you are here!

Life can come with experiences that are confusing, challenging, or harmful and leave us wondering how we function or move forward. I believe that in these moments, healing can happen when we have a safe space to understand ourselves and explore pathways forward. As a counselor, I create an environment that is safe, supportive, genuine, empathetic, (maybe even funny sometimes), and of course, non-judgmental. In creating this space, through a therapeutic relationship, we can explore identity, past life experiences, roots of issues, patterns, needs, and/or possible solutions to empower you to move in the direction of your choosing.

When you work with me in sessions, it will be collaborative and person-centered – meaning what feels most central to your life is what we will focus on, and I will bring in different Person-Centered, Interpersonal Processing, or Cognitive Behavioral techniques to help you with your personal goals. My goal in this process is to meet you where you are and assist you in gaining more self-knowledge, understanding the systems and structures that may affect your life, regaining autonomy, and feeling empowered to create the life you hope for.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at Central Michigan University, and after working with the adolescent population, I went on to Aquinas College to earn my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have a passion for working with those in the queer community, those who have experienced religious trauma, and adolescents/young adults, but I hope to provide space to many different kinds of clients.

I am glad you found this space, and I look forward to connecting with you!
