Maria Medina
Hello! I have worked with various agencies in the past seeking my niche within the field of social work. Throughout my years in the field, I have worked with many individuals and families all with diverse backgrounds and various ages. My specialties include: anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief and loss.
It was through my experiences that I had discovered my passion in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. My hope is to give my clients a safe and trusting space to share all those uncomfortable feelings, allowing them the ability to process and focus on their needs without judgement.. Therapy is a great tool to have in your toolbox as prioritizing your mental health and wellbeing is important.
In therapy, my goal is to focus on the client's strengths through a strengths-based approach as well as utilizing CBT concepts. I received my Bachelors in Child and Family Development from Western Michigan University and Masters in Clinical Social Work through Spring Arbor University. I continue to look for and attend trainings that would enhance my knowledge and skills to serve my clients well. I can honestly say that I love my job and I am very excited to begin working with you and/or your child!
