Betsie Little

Okemos & Virtual

I am dedicated to creating a safe and therapeutic alliance with all my clients. I foster a healing space with each client by developing trust and rapport over time. While healing is not linear, I support each client with identified goals to promote emotional and psychological well-being.

From an unconditional positive regard, I aim to help clients move from shame to self-compassion and grace. I draw on intersectional, queer, and feminist works to challenge harmful social norms that negatively impact self-esteem, worthiness, and sense of belonging. Ultimately, I believe each person has inherent worth and value and hope to be part of the process to foster that same belief in the self.

I have experience working with diverse clients ages 14+ who are survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, and violence. I know it is never the fault of the survivor who has experienced the abuse and have skills in EMDR, TF-CBT, Brainspotting, CPT, and other modalities to help survivors address post-trauma symptoms.

I received my BA in Psychology and Art from Alma College (2014), my Master in Social Work (MSW) from Grand Valley State University (2018), and am currently attending Michigan State University to pursue my Ph.D. in Social Work. In my downtime, I enjoy being a nerd watching anime, playing D&D, and spending quality time with my spouse and furbabies.
